July-August 2025

As the summer winds down, the campus is active with summer activities and gears up to welcome our students for the fall semester!  I am sharing our July and early August activities before my summer break.  My next blog will cover our September happenings.  Enjoy the rest of your summer!

New students were welcomed on campus during New Student Orientation over three days in mid-August, led by our dedicated Orientation Leaders.  SUNY WCC has had three years of enrollment growth.

Our friends at LUCA (Latino U College Access) held two days of workshops on SUNY WCC’s Valhalla campus to help prepare Westchester high school students for their next steps in higher education.  The sessions included a session on SUNY WCC’s Honors College, from which students transfer to selective public and private four-year colleges.

It was a joy to join in the send-off for SUNY WCC’s 22nd annual Cambridge Study Abroad Honors Programme at Cambridge University.  12 scholars will gain life-changing experiences and earn credits at SUNY WCC, traveling with their faculty mentors.

The Good for Girls STEAAM Summer Camp Program, sponsored by the Westchester County Board of Legislators and the Westchester County Youth Bureau, was once again hosted on the SUNY WCC Valhalla campus.

The achievements of our Intensive English Program students were celebrated in a ceremony in the Gateway Building on campus.
